An Argentine adopted a sick dog and gave him the sweetest farewell gift imaginable so that he may spend his dying days with "unconditional love."
The unhappy dog, Thanos, was found to have cancer, which quickly spread to his head and produced the enormous tumor seen in the pictures.
Due to his illness, Thanos had already been turned down by four different families. Fortunately, kindhearted stranger Luciano Karosas took the beleaguered canine into his home for the last few weeks of his life.
Thanos had a malignant brain tumor.
Before being taken in by the kindhearted man, Thanos, the dog who was previously known as Coconut, had a fatal tumor growing on his head and only had a few weeks to live.
Thanos, who had been known as Coconut before being taken in by the kind Argentinian, had only a few weeks left to live because he was developing a fatal brain tumor.
Few weeks were allotted to him for survival.
When Thanos received the terrible news, he was already living with a different family. When caring for him became impossible after the illness advanced to his head, they felt they had no choice but to give him up.
Later, Thanos was adopted by a number of other families, but they were perplexed by his illness and what it entailed; as a result, they gave him back to an animal shelter, where he eventually met Luciano.
During his last days on Earth, Luciano wanted to show him nothing but love.
The 21-year-old was moved by the dog's moving story when he went to the shelter and made the decision to take the dog in and give him the most loving last few weeks possible there and then. He confessed to Portal Amigo Cao, "I came out with a piece of my heart in my palm.
Luciano felt responsible for the wellbeing and happiness of his new pet and was determined to make Thanos' last moments unforgettable. He initially resisted accepting that there was nothing he could do and exerted every effort to save the animal. The 21-year-old took the dog to a vet in a last-ditch attempt to save his life in the hopes that they could save him.
He clarified: "I had a hard time getting used to the idea that we would see each other so infrequently. He had been given 40 days to live, so I took him to a stem cell veterinarian to see what we could do to give him a little more hope. I was told there is no cure that will extend that time."
The news was depressing and there was nothing more they could do, so Luciano and Thanos made the most of their time together.
In the brief time he spent with Luciano, Thanos appeared to be happier than ever. He even played and cuddled with the dog like any other dog, showering Luciano with all the attention he could muster.
As anticipated, the terrible illness claimed Thanos, who later passed away. On social media, his adoptive owner and all-around nice samaratin sent him a "happy voyage" and an "I will love you forever" message.
