Officers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in Florida heard something that caused them to pause as they were leaving a call. As they went to investigate whimpering coming from a septic drain, they discovered a miserable dog that was on the verge of drowning.
The animal was a stray, and one of the officers believed it was destiny for him to adopt the adorable fuzzy since they found him.
Little noises could be ignored by most people, but these caring policemen followed the noise and saved the puppy.
One of the nice cops who discovered the tiny puppy battling to keep afloat in a septic drain was James Gettings.
When help arrived, he was about ready to give up from exhaustion and fear.
The officers repeatedly cleaned the dog until he once more smelled like a dog, at which point they began looking for the canine's family.
Officer Gettings took the young child home and gave him the name Puddle when they were unable to determine who the boy belonged to.
The puppy is currently developing and living life to the fullest.
